Hospital Van
Who We Are:
The Hospital Van unit provides land transportation services for patients who are receiving medical treatment in the Shriners Children’s health care system. These services are extended to the patients’ parents and/or guardians. We make trips to the various Shriners Children’s medical centers located in the lower 48 states. The patient care facility we travel to most is Shriners Children’s in St. Louis, MO. However, we make many shorter trips within the state of Kansas.
Unit Meetings:
We meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Midian Shrine Center. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. We do not meet during the months of November and December.
Cost:
There are no dues to serve in the unit. Members must be in good standing with Midian and their respective blue lodges. They must have good driving records. Spouses of Midian Shriners may join the unit, too.
How to Join:
Contact the Plane of Mercy coordinator at the front desk at Midian Shine, or contact the unit Commander.
More Information:
Serving in the Hospital Van unit gives one a first hand experience of the “world’s greatest philanthropy” at work. The unit is an excellent opportunity for Shriners and their spouses to give more support to the patients of the Shriners Children’s medical system.
